The global sports brand will provide performance kit to the three teams which comprise of Stonewall F.C
The football club, which actively welcomes LGBT players of all levels, is marking its 25th anniversary season this year since its formation in 1991. Their success in Helsinki winning the Gay European title and their fourth consecutive Gay Games Titles makes them one of the longest-standing and most successful gay football teams.
As they step out of the tunnel this year for the 2016/2017 season, the players will be sporting some sleek new kit from Adidas, thanks to a new partnership between the brand and long standing Stonewall F.C sponsor, Team Pride.
Jamie Feldman, Trustee and Treasurer of Stonewall F.C commented on the new partnership: “We are confident that this partnership will continue to bring success to both Stonewall F.C and Adidas.”
While Johannes Donath, Adidas Senior Diversity Marketing Manager added that “The team continue to represent a pillar of the LGBT community in both the UK and when they compete abroad.” He also reiterated Adidas’ “ongoing commitment to the LGBT movement in global sport.”
The new kits will be available in red, white or blue.
Adidas recently added a protective clause to their athlete’s contracts which protects them if they come out publicly as LGBT.
